A gorilla, a whale, and...lots of cool scientific advances in #biomaterials and #biofabrication at the ESB 2026 conference, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the European Society for Biomaterials!

Between September 7th and 11th, Camille Bonhomme, Charlotte Brice, Paulina Nunez Bernal, and Riccardo Levato had a great time share our recent advances in volumetric #bioprinting and light-based biofabrication, encompassing new developments in 4D hydrogel design, and in pancreatic, cardiac and vascular engineered tissue models and #NAMs, as well as optogenetics, and artificial intelligence for context-aware bioprinting.

Many thanks and huge congrats to Sandra van Vlierberghe, Veerle Bloemen, and Liesbeth Geris for organizing this successful meeting! With over 1600 participants, the conference held in the beautiful "A Room with a ZOO"  venue in Antwerp, has been a great moment to catch-up with friends and collaborators. The full programme of the conference is available on the event's website: https://esb2026.org/
